Windows10に古いMySql 5.5をインストールしたときのメモ

PCを買い替えたので、古いPCからMySqlを以降。
今まで使っていたMyySql 5.5.16のインストーラを起動してインストール。

その後、コマンドプロンプトを起動して、mysqld –installを起動したがエラー。

C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\bin>mysqld --install
Install/Remove of the Service Denied!

どうも管理者権限がないらしいので、コマンドプロンプト（管理者用）を起動して再びmysqld –install。
コマンドプロンプト（管理者用）の起動の仕方は、スタートボタンを右クリックすると、「コマンドプロンプト（管理者用）」がでてくるので、そいつをクリックすればOK。

With lack of transparency and trust in BART’s management emerging as a recurring theme in this November’s election, the agency is proposing to open its data to the public. BART’s governing board on Thursday gave its input on a proposal to create a web portal where web and app developers, transportation wonks and anyone else could access the transit agency’s ridership, financial, crime, contracts, salary and other data free of charge. Some data that has security or privacy implications would not be shared, said Tim Moore, BART’s web services manager. BART already collects reams of data mostly for internal use, though almost all of it is available to the public upon request, Moore said.

Louise Beaumont, the long-time Head of Public Affairs & Marketing of GLI Finance has departed the firm. When the people of Kyiv can book a doctor’s appointment, track city budget spending and find the best routes on public transport – all online via free Wi-Fi – they’ll be living in the kind of town envisaged by Kyiv Smart City, a group of volunteers that are trying to transform the Ukraine’s capital into a hi-tech metropolis. In just a year of its existence, the organization has implemented a range of initiatives in Kyiv, including a pay-pass system for the metro, Wi-Fi in some public areas, electronic boards on bus stops, online petitions, a GPS tracker system for buses on the most popular routes, and so on. City authorities don’t fund any of these initiatives, but Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who tries to appeal to young people, is a vocal supporter of the project.

The U.S. government is taking a stronger look at AI research and development, according to a new report they just released. The report calls for additional support on “high-risk, high-reward AI research and its application,” alongside the need to “prioritize open training data and open data standards in AI.” The news comes via FedScoop: “The Obama administration is calling for the government to prioritize basic and long-term research on artificial intelligence, and develop a government-wide policy on autonomous and semi-autonomous weapons. The recommendations were part of an extensive report the White House released Wednesday that looks to outline the federal government’s part in developing rapidly evolving AI technology.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. October 12, 2016 – Attorney General Kamala D. Harris today announced the unprecedented release of firearms sales data in California on OpenJustice, the first-of-its-kind open data initiative she launched last September. The new firearms data section of OpenJustice shows how firearms sales have changed over the last two decades and includes a county-by-county breakdown.  It also sheds light on what types of guns are purchased in California and how guns change hands.  The data, along with analysis and charts, is available at https://openjustice.doj.ca.gov/firearms/. “The dramatic spike in gun sales over the last ten years reflects the continued need for smart and sensible gun safety laws,” said Attorney General Harris.

There are few issues more important to Americans than gun policy. According to Gallup, 72 percent of American voters identified gun policy as being “very important” to their 2016 vote decision. Recent polls also show more than 80 percent of Americans see gun violence as a serious or very serious problem. Despite the high levels of interest in this issue, Congress decided to bend to the NRA’s preferences and has severely limited the federal government’s ability to conduct research on gun violence over the past 20 years by banning any gun-related research that could be policy-relevant. As a result, the state of data collection on gun violence is abysmal. Without good and timely information, it’s hard to press for specific changes.

In an effort to improve transparency at the CMPD, the department’s website now includes a page where the general public can get more information on police shootings and traffic stops. Following last month’s fatal police shooting of Keith Scott, community leaders and protesters called on CMPD to be more transparent and accountable. Major Johnny Jennings says the new site has been in the works since last year and was recommended by a White House task force on policing. The idea is to have information on police shootings in one place.

Education in road safety isn’t the most thrilling topic. Cities have put up billboards encouraging drivers to obey the speed limit or launched 30-second public service announcements about buckling seatbelts. Chances are, these efforts go in one ear and out the other. So Boston decided to take a different approach. In a city that derives its “Titletown” nickname from its championship sports teams, the office of Mayor Marty Walsh is hoping to harness that competitive spirit and unleash it, so to speak, on the streets: by having residents compete in a “Safest Driver Competition” as a way to improve roadway safety. Launched Oct. 3, the competition incentivizes good driving techniques by offering cash prizes and bragging rights.
