City hall is open for business. And open for discussion about that business. Doug Nadorozny, the city’s former chief administrative officer, told The Star earlier this week the open governance strategy the city adopted in late March is part of its proactive approach to interacting with residents. “We know that in this new era data is easy to find, and that there’s both an ability and an interest of the public to get more and more of the actual hardcore facts around the operations of municipal governments,” he said. “By declaring the open governance model, we’re hoping to highlight that in our operations and to look proactively to get information out, rather than waiting for people to request it and going through a big decision process.
