While California may be home to some of the most aggressively forward-thinking tech companies in the world, that enthusiasm for innovation hasn’t carried over to the public sector. State and local governments have been frustratingly slow to make public data available online. There hasn’t been anything close to a statewide standard, leaving individual agencies to voluntarily develop open data policies, often in an inconsistent and piecemeal fashion, or not at all. That would change if the California legislature passes two bills, S.B. 573 and S.B. 272, which would put state and local government bodies respectively on the path to open data.

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Governor Greg Abbott’s office confirms that he will be in Fort Worth on Tuesday, July 7 to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Facebook Data Center. Along with Gov. Abbott, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price will attend the groundbreaking, which will be located at 14100 Park Vista Blvd in Fort Worth (the future site of the data center). CBS 11 is working to confirm more details about the center, including how many jobs it will bring and how quickly the center will be finished. This is a developing story.  We will update this article with more information as we get it.

(ALBUQUERQUE) – Four New Mexicans have been selected by the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government (FOG) to receive the organization’s top honor for open government – the Dixon First Amendment Award. Given since 2002, the award is in memory of FOG co-founder and longtime board member William S. Dixon, who was an Albuquerque attorney and leading defender of the First Amendment and the state’s sunshine laws. This year’s recipients and the categories for which they were selected are Ken Walz, Lifetime Achievement; Peter St. Cyr, Journalism; Dr. Chad Painter, Education, and Mark Leech, Government. They will be honored at FOG’s annual “Your Right To Know Luncheon” on Wednesday, October 7 at the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque.

Six teams submitted innovative and engaging entries at the inaugural GovHack Sunshine Coast event held from 3-5 July. Twenty people attended the launch on Friday night, including sponsors, to kick off the 46 – hour event which brought together geeks, digital creatives, data analysts, storytellers and entrepreneurs to explore open government data. As such, year-to-year differences should not be interpreted as indicators of trends in air quality and should not be extrapolated into the future. Results should not be taken as indicators of healthiness of living in the cities presented on. The linked map is created for a different purpose and may show more stations than are included in this data set, and may not show historical locations. Calgary East was shut down in 2011 for relocation. Stations which have had PM2.5 monitoring technology upgraded since 2010 are: Medicine Hat and Fort Saskatchewan (2011), Fort McMurray AV (2012), Fort McMurray PM (2013).

Android Wear（アンドロイドウエア）のYouTubeアプリが公開されましたね。

画面は小さいしバッテリーは消耗するし、Android Wearでビデオを見る理由が、ほとんどないわけですが・・・

このアプリは、公式YouTubeアプリではなく、Chromecastに対するサポートでAppfourによって開発されたアプリなんですね。
