Brig Gen MA Msuya is the Director of Disaster Management Department in the Prime Minister Office coordinating disaster management in Tanzania .He is a graduate from UDSM (Bsc) , Madras university-MPhl (India) and National Defence (ndc). He has been working with TPDF Armed Force which is an instrument of the State that operates in the scenario where Natural and Manmade disaster occurs. Brig Gen Msuya has commanded several units and He have headed different Directorates in TPDF where data analysis was applied. His current post as DMD require an application of different types of data for decision making process in disaster management.

Real-time data analytics on display at the tennis tourney As Rafael Nadal wiped the court with his countryman Tommy Robredo in the quarter-finals of the 2013 U.S. Open, the screens at Arthur Ashe Stadium displayed more than the current score. They kept up a stream of statistics, including how Twitter traffic was trending for each player. There, too, Nadal was way ahead. The social media tracker is one of the new features in the Open’s digital presence, where Big Data management produces two weeks of statistics for officials, media and fans served through a variety of platforms. It is data management on a grand scale in a compressed period of time, say officials at IBM, the United States Tennis Association technology partner for over 20 tournaments.

Open Energi, a UK company whose sensors on fridges, heaters and pumps enable those devices to use electricity more efficiently, is turning to Hadoop data storage to get its business to the next level. David Hill, business development director at Open Energi, said the deal with Hadoop distributor Hortonworks will help as the company moves beyond the proof of concept work it has been doing with customers such as Sainsbury’s and United Utilities. It has chosen the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) to store data from its sensors, which allow energy consumption to be managed in real-time based on immediate demand. Open Energi has been using relational database technology of its own devising so far, said Hill.

The concept of open data—the notion that information and intellectual property should be freely available without copyright or patent restrictions—didn’t exactly start with the Internet. But the overwhelming quantity of information generated by the Internet coupled with its ability to easily access, transmit and share data makes it a key concern for businesses and government. Open data proponents argue it is the foundation of a new digital democracy. Attorney General Kamala D. Harris announced the launch of OpenJustice, a criminal justice open data initiative, during a press event in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Harris said the initiative is part of “a whole new way of doing business in government, which is adopting technology in a way that improves transparency.” OpenJustice will make large amounts of criminal justice data available to the public with an overall goal of improving safety, strengthening trust, enhancing government accountability, and informing public policy.

The ATP’s biggest names—Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka and Rafael Nadal—have all seen success on the court. But how do they compare? Djokovic and Murray are two of a kind. They have similar physical builds and similar styles—solid, consistent ground games, dominating returns and great court coverage. The big difference between them and their rankings is performance on second serve. Djokovic has the most effective second serve in tennis, winning 60% of those points on the year, while Murray has a relatively weak second serve (ranked 21st on tour). The two Swiss players are different as well. Federer and Wawrinka both play with more aggression than Djokovic or Murray, but they do it in different ways.
