KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s pro-investment approaches will draw investments into the country and encourage companies to use Malaysia as a production base in light of a stronger US economy. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar said as the US economy strengthens, it is seeing a reversal of investment flows away from emerging markets back into the US. “With the higher US interest rates, should they decide to increase it, we will see more inflows into US dollars and this will affect not just Malaysia, but all emerging markets too,” he told reporters after opening the Malaysia Statistics Conference 2015 here yesterday, adding that this is more with respect to portfolio investments.
