Road and public transit touch the daily lives of nearly every citizen. Open road and transit data generates tremendous economic benefit and promotes accountability. OpenStreetMap is a powerful tool for sharing road infrastructure, but legal and policy considerations prevent governments from managing their road data in OpenStreetMap. Working with the World Bank and the Philippines government to deploy the software the powers OpenStreetMap to manage road data with open software. This is also good for the OpenStreetMap community. It creates more investors in the OpenStreetMap ecosystem and more OSM-ready data.
