NASA will be running its annual International Space Apps Challenge on April 10-12, an event which spans many cities around the world and gets interested people working with, exploring, and building things using NASA data. The event focuses on four key areas: Earth, outer space, humans, and robotics. The three-day hackathon challenges participants to develop mobile apps, software, hardware, data visualization and platform solutions that could contribute to space exploration missions and help improve life on Earth. Socrata is particularly interested in one challenge: Data Treasure Hunting. Want to show us your stuff? Using data.nasa.gov, applicants are challenged to devise a clever way to discover rich keywords to describe potential, hidden, and secondary uses of open data.
