Big Data is a massively popular trend, but like many pioneering technologies there are confusions on the best methods to benefit from future growth. In my previous article I discussed the merits of Big Data, and touched on a couple potential investment options. One of the most attractive investment options in my eyes is Hortonworks (NASDAQ:HDP). The company had its initial public offering in December and is already trading 53% above its initial price. Even though the stock is up a sizable amount, I believe there are more gains to be had if you invest in Hortonworks now. In June 2011, Hortonworks was spun-off as a standalone company from Yahoo’s Hadoop engineering team.
