The government has made more public sector data available to developers and businesses with the first Open Data Camp. The facility in Hampshire allows participants to share data with the aim of creating better services for the public and driving growth in data-hungry businesses. The camp was launched to coincide with International Open Data Day, when people around the world gathered to support and encourage the adoption of open data policies by governments. New data from the Buy Social Directory, which acts as an index of over 10,000 UK social enterprises, was made available to the camp’s attendees.
