The cities of Boston and Philadelphia have seen significant results from their open data initiatives. Bill Oates, CIO, City of Boston and Mark Headd, Chief Data Officer, City of Philadelphia speak on how they started and why their approach worked. Philadelphia began by opening up data around transportation because it impacts most citizens’ lives and many other cities were already doing good things with transit data. “We started out very modestly, and at first we really looked for the low-hanging fruit,” he said in this new case study “How Boston and Philadelphia have reestablished trust in government”.
