With help from Arthur Allen and David Pittman OPEN DATA GROUP KICK-STARTS LOBBYING EFFORTS: The Health Data Consortium, best known for running the popular Health Datapalooza event, has turned to policymaking and lobbying in recent months as it seeks to expand access to data the group believes will transform the health care system. Last week a measure supported by the group was included in a Medicare hospital pay measure, although the consortium didn’t play a major role in drafting the language. The Medicare Data Act is included in a draft of a bill that House Ways and Means health subcommittee chair Kevin Brady hopes to move early next year. Sponsored by Rep.
