Statistics Sierra Leone that has been providing data for the people of Sierra Leone has taken another positive step by celebrating African Statistics Day on the 18th November, 2014 with the theme: Open Data for Accountability and Inclusiveness. The Statistician General Mr. Mohamed King Koroma giving his keynote address in the conference room at Statistics Sierra Leone head quarters in Freetown said the 18th of November is celebrated across the continent as African Statistics Day. He said this day is set aside by the United Nations Commission for Africa (UNECA) to raise public awareness on the role of Statistics in the socio-economic development of countries.
