Lisa Roolant talks to Gavin Starks and Julie Freeman of the Open Data Institute about unlocking the collective value of data Data is like the blood running through the veins of our technological infrastructure, networks and systems. As we weave in and out of our devices and web presences, consciously and unconsciously tagging bits of information, we are constantly in its shadow. But ‘data’ is not one classifiable entity: it covers a vast, nebulous territory that we are only just beginning to uncover. Much like our position to the web of the mid-90s, we are on the verge of understanding the capacity of what our data-driven world can look like.
