マサチューセッツ工科大学(MIT)の大学院生の研究チームはテンソルフィアというブラウザ内から機械学習モデルを実行することを可能にする新しいJavaScriptライブラリを公開した。GoogleによるTensorFlowの技術に基づき、テンソルフィアは最近のブラウザでハードウェアアクセラレーションによるグラフィクスAPIを使用して、GPU上でニューラルネットワークをセットアップします。重要なのは、エンドユーザは何をダウンロードしたりインストールする必要がありませんし、性能が高速である。

この技術では、ウェブサイト上でどのように利用できるかを実証するために、チームは、アートワークのマッピング画像を得るというサイトを立ち上げた。

オープンソースは、MITライセンス下でテンソルフィアをリリースする予定です。

A team of MIT graduate students have released a new JavaScript library called TensorFire that makes it possible to run machine learning models from within a browser. Based on Google’s TensorFlow technology, TensorFire uses the hardware-accelerated graphics APIs in modern browsers to set up neural networks on any GPU. Importantly, it doesn’t require the end user to download or install anything, and performance is fast. To demonstrate how the technology might be used on a website, the team set up a site that can map a piece of artwork to another image.
