In a long-awaited release, the Treasury Department on Friday published the final schema for its federal spending data format on the Federal Spending Transparency GitHub portal. The schema, mandated under the DATA Act of 2014, dictates how federal data elements relate to one another. Treasury and OMB published 57 data elements last year, along with a preliminary version of the schema. “Friday’s announcement completes a journey that began in 2010,” said Hudson Hollister, executive director of the Data Coalition, in a press release today. “That’s when Rep.
