The Department of Commerce recently awarded People Power’s Chief Scientist John Teeter the Silver Medal Award for Exceptional Service for his work in developing Green Button, a secure way to get energy use information electronically. With adoption by a diverse set of entities (including Austin Energy, Maui Electric, WeatherBug and London Hydro), Green Button reaches millions of customers today. Since we’re always swayed by shiny awards, we sat down to chat with Teeter. Teeter: My work with Green Button has continued to evolve since the inception of the Green Button Initiative.
