Big Data. Little Barriers. A day of open data, technology and civic engagement Public data used in the right way, helps solve public problems and Hack For Reno Summit wants to know what data Reno needs to solve its problems. On Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center, Code For Reno and the City of Reno are inviting government workers, journalists, developers, students, artists, citizen groups and the public to begin a conversation about building a smarter city using open data. Attendees will listen to speakers provide examples and context for useful data, then work together to find out what problems Reno faces and how data can help. In the spring, Hack For Reno will host a hackathon to create applications to put the data to use.
