Hear from the people who are putting government data to work The government collects terabytes of data every year—an amount that is increasing exponentially every day. Talent shortages aside, there is simply not enough manpower across government to manage that much data. That’s why the open data movement has been gaining traction in recent years. Government leaders realize that opening up their agencies’ data to the public enables individual citizens to find answers to their questions, make better decisions for themselves and their communities, and crowdsource solutions to our society’s most pressing challenges. This summer, the government social network GovLoop hosted its annual conference, “Data Done Smart: Your Guide to Data Analytics in Government,” in Washington, D.C.
