Advocacy group calls for next government chief data officer to focus on enacting open standards and licensing to strengthen information sharing nationally The Open Data Institute (ODI) has said strong leadership will be needed to bring together the various practical and ethical stands of the government’s information governance strategy following the announcement that UK data chief Mike Bracken is stepping down from his role. Government Digital Service (GDS) executive director Bracken, who was appointed to the role of the UK’s chief data officer in March this year, will be leaving Whitehall next month.
