To improve healthcare delivery via data, public health officials in California are collaborating on an open data movement. A data portal is up and running on the website for the California Department of Health and is open to the public–including healthcare policymakers, innovators, coders and more. The state is hoping the information can be used to find gaps and issues that need to be fixed in California’s health systems, according to the Sacramento Bee. “We’ve started working on the question of ‘how do you get more data in the hands of the people,'” Daniel Stein, co-founder of Stewards of Change, told the paper. “California has mountains of information not easily consumable or easily combined for analysis.
