Tyler residents have a new way to communicate ideas and needs to the city. This week the city launched Tyler Speaks, a tool for residents to make suggestions on how to improve life in the city. “Suggestions (could include) what kind of movies they want to see at Liberty Hall, upgrades to Tyler parks, ideas for anything the city is doing with the half-cent sales tax,” said Serena Butcher, senior public relations specialist for the city. Tyler Speaks can be found online in three places. Residents can access it at www.tylerspeaks.com ; under the “Open Data” tab on the city’s homepage at www.cityoftyler.org ; or through a widget on the city’s Facebook page. The tool also allows for residents to view other suggestions and vote on them.
