オープン ソース運動は、技術を推進する最も強力な勢力の一つです。遠くない昔、スタートアップが Oracle または web サーバーのライセンスに VCs からお金のトンを調達すると言っても忘れがちです。今日どんなちっぽけなスタートアップに最適なツールへのアクセス世界です。しかしオープン データの欠如はまだ真剣に戻って、革新を保持し、データより重要になると、問題が悪化。たとえば、どのようにハードについて革新的な予測分析会社、地上に降りるのだと思います。それは、ソフトウェアを持っていないことそれは彼らのデータを持っていません。たくさんの優れたオープン ソース プロジェクト （Sci Py、R など) の上に構築するのです。しかし、使用可能なデータの不足が大きな問題だテストおよび任意のドメインでは、アルゴリズムのトレーニングします。

The open source movement is one of the most powerful forces pushing technology forward. It’s easy to forget that not long ago, startups had to raise tons of money from VCs to license Oracle or a web server. Today any tiny startup has access to the best tools in the world. But the lack of open data still seriously holds innovation back, and as data becomes more critical, the problem becomes worse. For example, think about how hard it is for innovative predictive analytics companies to get off the ground. It’s not that they don’t have the software; it’s that they don’t have the data. There are plenty of excellent open source projects to build on top of (Sci-Py, R, etc.). But the lack of usable data is a huge issue when it comes to testing and training the algorithms in any domain.
