For the first time in Singapore, Fossasia 2015 makes a stop in the city to run a series of events and programmes for students, developers and entrepreneurs all in the name of big data and open source technology. An estimated 800 number of people including professionals turned up at the three-day open source event held within Singapore’s startup area of Blk 71, Blk 79 and Biopolis. The talks and workshops, conducted by industry experts including software developers and programmers from established open source software companies RedHat, Mozilla and Lubuntu, included subjects like mastering coding languages to explore cross-platform game engines. Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Vivian Balakrishnan was also present.
