FLOOD DAMAGE: Residents in Sudbury’s Minnow Lake area are cleaning up after a water main broke over the weekend. The burst happened on Saturday morning and flooded several homes. Anastasia Rioux’s rec room and backyard were damaged by the water. She says early estimates show repairs could cost more than $50,000. OPEN DATA: The City of Greater Sudbury has joined a growing number of governments by launching an open data program. This sees internal information about city operations posted on a public website to be used by citizens. NEWBORN HEALTH: A new report paints an alarming picture of the number of babies born with neonatal abstinence syndrome in northern Ontario. The syndrome can occur in babies who’s pregnant mothers were dependent or addicted to opioids.
