Investors are preparing for a massive amount of Japanese data to hit screens just ahead of Tokyo’s opening bell. The January data should give a clear sense of how the world’s third largest economy is performing in the early days of 2015. At 7:30am in Hong Kong we get: And at 7:50am we also receive: Ahead of the action, Asian bourses are expected to trudge higher. Futures suggest Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 will rise another 0.5 per cent to the 15-year high it finished at on Thursday, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is expected to rise 0.2 per cent. Sydney’s S&P/ASX 200, however, fell 0.2 per cent in the first minutes of trading. Woolworths is among the worst performers, falling 10 per cent.
