Arizona Speaker of the House Gowan introduces bill to enable Apple to open operations center in Mesa Arizona Speaker of the House David Gowan (R-District 14, Sierra Vista) introduced legislation that, if passed into law, would enable Apple to open an international operations center in Mesa, according to a Feb. 10 press release. As announced in a press conference last week with Arizona Gov. Ducey, Senate President Andy Biggs and Mesa Mayor John Giles, Apple wants to make one of the largest investments in its history – $2 billion for Arizona in the first 10 years, which would include 150 full-time jobs and 300 -500 construction jobs annually. The project is estimated to have a 30-year timeline, according to the release.
