inResonance (iR), provider of the FileMaker platform for schools, has acquired Schoolyard, a company that makes Web sites for schools. “The Schoolyard product, brand and key personnel will become a division of iR,” according to a news release. “Schoolyard Founder Mark Bistline will join iR as an important asset to the leadership team and will continue to represent the Schoolyard division in the independent school market.” The acquisition will combine Schoolyard’s open Web systems with iR’s open data systems in an effort to provide more complete integrations of information and communication systems. iR will still provide single sign-on and more for other Web companies and Schoolyard clients will be able to continue working with their existing data system providers.
