Nottingham City Council has taken down a website that publishes responses to all its Freedom of Information requests. The authority said the log would be replaced within six months and “will focus on publishing requests which we feel are of wider public interest”. Freedom of Information requests allow people to ask councils and other public bodies for data. Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottinghamshire Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service publish all their FOI responses, but some districts and borough councils do not. Acting Corporate Director of Resources, Glen O’Connell, said: “We are committed to openness and transparency through publishing Council data and have voluntarily signed up to the LGA Open Data Incentive Scheme.
