Appallicious founder Yo Yoshida discusses a personal tragedy that lead him to become a prolific champion of citywide open data in San Francisco tied to apartments and housing. His comments were from March’s inaugural Data Summit in 2014. Regional forums for the 2015 Data Summit, scheduled to happen again in March during the nationwide transparency awareness week known as “Sunshine Week” are just underway. This week on Wednesday, December 17th, one is happening in Long Beach: California Forward and Code for America invite city officials and staff to attend a free event December 17 exploring how open civic data helps local governments be more efficient, effective and responsive.
