Calls to create new data chief role among wider recommendations put to government on improving data sharing The government should consider introducing a Chief Data Officer (CDO) to help coordinate efforts to reform how Whitehall uses and shares information with a view to encouraging innovative service design and transparency. Calls to establish a CDO role in government are among a number of recommendations that have been outlined by the Open Data Institute (ODI) to coincide with a gathering of public sector and industry figures today looking at transparency in government.
