The Financial Post rounds up recent news that technology leaders need to know: The Canadian Open Data Experience (CODE), a 48-hour coding sprint in which developers compete to build the best app using federal government data from Canada’s Open Government Portal, promotes the use of Open Data and teaches developers and innovators how to work with the datasets found on Canada’s Open Government Portal to create applications that improve Canadian lives. Contestants will compete in three categories – Youth, Commerce and Quality of Life – working to a category-specific theme that will be announced just before the competition begins.
