“The government is right to take some pride in what it has been able to achieve but [there is] much more to do,” said Nigel Shadbolt. “We’re doing very well in the UK, we’re ‘top of the pops’ when it comes to various reviews as to the amount of data and the quality of data we are putting out there [but] this is job not done,” he added, reflecting the message sent by Mike Bracken earlier in the day. Discussing the work that government has done to deliver the digital by default strategy, Bracken told audiences that whilst a lot had been done to create a “digital centre of government” and “fix transactions”, “we have a lot of work [to do] transforming and changing government to go wholesale.
