SunGard Public Sector has partnered with Socrata an open data and cloud software provider, to offer Socrata’s Open Data and Open Performance solutions, along with Socrata’s suite of financial transparency apps, to its customers across North America. Through the partnership both companies aim to increase data-driven decision making within state and local governments. The partnership will integrate parts of both SunGard and Socrata’s public sector offering. Socrata has steadily built up market share in the open data portal business for states and municipalities. SunGard Public Sector also provides public administration and public safety and justice software applications, as well as cloud-based services.
