The New South Wales state government called on businesses to help design the next generation of apps to boost government service delivery using open data. Dominic Perrottet, New South Wales Minister for Finance and Services, launched the latest round of the apps4nsw competition this morning. apps4nsw is a series of events aimed at encouraging the citizens and businesses to use open data to create innovative web and mobile apps. The government has set aside a total of A$45,000 (US$39,600) for the most innovative ideas that can help the government transform citizen services, he said. “Our citizens deserve state of the art services and we’d like to co-design them with the best and brightest minds in the private sector,” he said.
