#40000000は,オープンデータセット、英国バンクに寄贈した新薬を開発するお手伝いをしていた1000000名のボランティアによる遺伝子データの連続配列にグラキオスミスクリンによって明らかになってきた。

同社によると、今年は50,000人の遺伝子データを並べると言っていたが、政府の「セクタ」の正式開始に合わせるライフサイエンス産業への支援を行うことを表明しました。首脳は、セクター25機関が多額の投資を行ったという。

セクタは研究をはじめと英国臨床試験性能を向上させる分野に注力する方針を打ち出しています。

A storage robot deposits samples in the world’s largest blood and urine sample freezer at Biobank, near Manchester Phil Noble/Reuters A £40 million investment has been unveiled by Glaxosmithkline to fund continued sequencing of genetic data from half a million volunteers who have donated to the UK Biobank, an open data set, to help to develop new medicines. The company, which had said already that it would sequence genetic data for 50,000 people this year, made the announcement to coincide with the formal launch of the government’s “sector deal” to support the life sciences industry.
