However, 96% of people are unaware of smart city initiatives in their own city according to a report by YouGov and Arqiva (Arqiva, 2016). SmartCitiesWorld is hosting a 54 page report from RICS (Royal Institute of Charter Surveyors) which focuses on the interconnected agendas of smart cities, big data and open data for the built environment. The research looks at how people in built environment professions, including architects, planners and engineers can benefit from data platforms at city level.
