HYDERABAD: Telangana will now become the only state in the country with a dedicated policy framework on cyber security. The state information technology department through a dedicated policy for the sector will set up institutions and legal framework to counter cyber crimes. India had formulated its national cyber security framework as late as 2013. By forming its own cyber secutiry policy Telangana becomes the first state with a dedicated policy on cyber security. The state hopes to set up a cyber security emergency response team in the process and ramp up its awareness and safe cyber practice programmes among citizens. The policy was unveiled on Thursday as part of the state’s sectoral policy for information technology.
